The Cantaloupe melon gets it name from the Italian village of Cantalup,  Italy, where it was first cultivated. Brought to North America by Christopher  Columbus in 1494. Cantaloupes are the most popular melons in the United States  now due to their refreshing flavor, juicy texture and sweet aroma.

In 1772, the Continental Congress passed the Flag Act: "Resolved, that the flag of the United States be made of thirteen stripes, alternate red and white; that the union be thirteen stars, white in a blue field, representing a new Constellation." This flag is sometimes called the "Betsy Ross flag" after a Philadelphia seamstress.

With its bright golden color and ray-like petals, the Sunflower is a symbol of the sun and signifies nobility. In China it represents longevity and is considered magical. In Christian love, it serves as a sign of God's love.
The sunflower is the state flower of the US state of Kansas.

To grow well, sunflowers need full sun. They grow best in fertile, moist, well-drained soil with a lot of mulch. In commercial planting, seeds are planted 45 cm (1.5 ft) apart and 2.5 cm (1 in) deep. Sunflower "whole seed" (fruit) are sold as a snack food, after roasting in ovens with or without salt added. Sunflowers can be processed into a peanut butter alternative, sunbutter.  *Wikipedia
