White swirly ghost arising from an ice cream cone. Happy Halloween is written on the cone and decorated with a tiny black spider. This ornament is retired.....no more little ghost(((
Halloween has its origins in the ancient festival of Samhain, the Celtic New Year, when spirits were allowed to return to early to visit. Christianity incorporated this into All Hallow''s Eve, October 31, prior to All Saints Day. The Irish brought Halloween to America in the 1940's, with the tradition of dressing in costumes and playing pranks in the hopes of keeping the evil spirits away.
