Shark Sightings!

Sharks have definitely been the "ornament of the week." Leaving in the shop in two's, three's, and  four's!.

Great ornament to remember those summer vacations.

Sharks have been living in the oceans for 350 million years. They are incredibly sensitive to sounds, scents, and vibrations making them efficient hunters. Sharks help to maintain the balance in fish species. Without sharks many fish become scarce because they are eaten by fish that sharks usually feed on.

Turkey and Thanksgiving

The turkey symbolizes altruism and self-sacrifice. It is the centerpiece of today's Thanksgiving dinner, which commemorates the first Thanksgiving in 1621, when the Pilgrims and the Native Americans shared a harvest meal. Ben Franklin championed the turkey as our national symbol, but the bald eagle won!

Old World Christmas News!

The pink version of the Magnolia Christmas ornament has been dropped from production. So if you have any in your collection you might want to hang on to it! If you don't have one, look for one now before sellers run out! We only have three left in our shop at the present time.
The Magnolia symbolizes nobility, perseverance and love of nature. It is the official state flower of both Mississippi and Louisiana. One of the oldest nicknames for Houston, Texas, is "the Magnolia City" due to the many Magnolias growing along Buffalo Bayou.

Fall Back! It's Daylight Savings Time Again

Fall Back.....Spring Forward!
The Cuckoo Clock’s origins date back to the early 1600s in the Black Forest region of Europe when people carved intricate wooden clocks during the snowbound winter months. In 1738, Franz Ketterer made the first Cuckoo Clock with the little bird behind a small door that opened to let the bird call out the hour and half hour.

Happy Halloween!

One of the most popular figures associated with Halloween in the Witch. Her pointy black hat, dark cape, old broomstick and black cat make her easy to recognize. Her name comes from the Saxon word "wicca," meaning wise one. Today, she is a traditional favorite at Halloween costume parties and with young trick-or-treaters.

Witch is wearing a purple cape and black hat, owl sitting on one arm and stirring her cauldron with her broom. Jack O' Lanterns surround the base of the kettle along with a green frog and a monkey!
